DREAMers are hard workers. They have fought hard for the right to be in the U.S. and the right to access higher education. The DREAM.US is an organization that provides scholarships to DREAMers so they can become better prepared to provide for their families and contribute their talents to the U.S.
Since its creation three years ago, The DREAM.US has helped more than 4,000 undocumented immigrant youth graduate from college.
A new round of applications is being opened starting November 1, 2017 for two scholarships offered: National Scholarship and Opportunity Scholarships.
The National Scholarships are for high school or community college graduates who are beneficiaries of DACA or TPS or those who meet the past DACA eligibility criteria and qualify for in-state tuition at one of the partner colleges. There is also an online college option. The scholarship is for up to $14,500 for an associate’s degree and $29,000 for a bachelor’s degree.
The Opportunity Scholarship is for high school graduates who live in states that do not offer in-state tuition to DREAMers – or bar them from attending state colleges and universities altogether. Applicants must be DACA or TPS recipients and be admitted to one of the Opportunity Partner Colleges to receive this scholarship. The scholarship is for up to $80,000 to cover tuition, fees, and on-campus housing and meals for a bachelor’s degree.
