Tucson Samaritans / Los Samaritanos

Since 2002, Samaritan volunteers have delivered food, water, medical supplies, maps and survival packages to migrants crossing the desert near Tucson. The volunteer project is a mission of Southside Presbyterian Church, which became famous for offering sanctuary to Central American immigrants in the 1980s. The church rekindled the sanctuary movement in 2014, offering sanctuary to an immigrant mother in deportation proceedings.
